Complaints about the axing of the live feed, via the red button and during the day on E4, has helped make BB the most complained about C4 show in June.
In data published today, Channel 4 confirmed they received 1837 complaints in June about Big Brother.
No breakdown or example of these complaints has been released, but it is expected a significant proportion of them are from loyal viewers angry at the decision to not offer 24/7 live streaming from the Big Brother house this series.
These complaints are in addition to the 121 received in April and May as the news broke in the countdown to Big Brother 10 that there would be no live feed this year. Channel 4 also received 48 ‘appreciative comments’ about Big Brother in June.
Channel 4 continue to insist the live feed was not financially viable this year, and according to recent reports claim it’s removal hasn’t been a factor in the show losing nearly half it’s audience since BB9, with shows regularly failing to attract more than 2m viewers.
Meanwhile former Big Mouth host Jack Whitehall is the latest to comment on the issue, telling Digital Spy that “I think you’ve got to give the people who are fans of it what they want. If that’s something that they enjoy watching then it probably should be there.
