Big Brother tops C4 complaints list
C4 receive 1837 complaints

Complaints about the axing of the live feed, via the red button and during the day on E4, has helped make BB the most complained about C4 show in June.

In data published today, Channel 4 confirmed they received 1837 complaints in June about Big Brother.

No breakdown or example of these complaints has been released, but it is expected a significant proportion of them are from loyal viewers angry at the decision to not offer 24/7 live streaming from the Big Brother house this series.

These complaints are in addition to the 121 received in April and May as the news broke in the countdown to Big Brother 10 that there would be no live feed this year.    Channel 4 also received 48 ‘appreciative comments’ about Big Brother in June.

Channel 4 continue to insist the live feed was not financially viable this year, and according to recent reports claim it’s removal hasn’t been a factor in the show losing nearly half it’s audience since BB9, with shows regularly failing to attract more than 2m viewers.

Meanwhile former Big Mouth host Jack Whitehall is the latest to comment on the issue, telling Digital Spy that “I think you’ve got to give the people who are fans of it what they want. If that’s something that they enjoy watching then it probably should be there.

people seem to think that if they keep complaining about big brother by phoning up on their hotline they will be able to evict it off their 10:00-11:00 timeslot.

ehumm…

It doesn’t mean all the complaints were for live feed though, but thats how the article comes across and its quite misleading

BBFan, it doesn’t come accross like that to me. - the article only says that a “significant” amount of the complaints are likely to be about live feed - how does that translate to Brekkie claiming “all” the complaints are about LF?

Its just the way it reads to me

Interestingly another website is claiming the final is on July 17th

Scroll down a little but you’ll find the story there

BBFan, the article is referring to the “Finale” of the Special 10th anniversary week and it goes on to mention the actual final (which I estimate will be Fri, 4th Sept) if you read it properly

“for the finale on Friday July 17th, they say that “a host of extravagant surprises” are in store for us and the housemates on the final eviction night.”

That isn’t what I’m on about. Read it again, especially near the start, a bit more carefully ;)

That’s obviously a mistake, if it was correct which it isn’t it would mean this series would have only had a four week run, the length of this series is fourteen weeks which takes us up to the beginning of September.

They’ve just completely misinterpreted it, although arguably the best birthday present for Big Brother would be to put this series out of it’s misery.

Sept 4th is the supposed finish date, but there are rumours the series will be cut short - but really I can’t see it losing more than a week or two.

LOL i don’t watch live feed anyway, i find it boring, thats why i like watching the highlights at night because they show the best bits. So not having live feed doesn’t bother me.

i’m just so suprised the has been so many as 48 ‘appreciative comments’ about Big Brother last month! I dont think this series has been bad - far from it. It’s just been okay. Nothing to praise it for, but there is a lot to criticise.

Agree with you James!:D

I dont see why people are getting all aggrovated about it. The show, is really boring this year. To me, the worst yet :\

Can anyone tell me how i make a complaint about the bb website? After 10 yrs of watching bb i decided to join the website. Almost all my posts are either stopped or taken off over night; even nice ones. It’s got to the point that i no longer want to go on there and haven’t for two days.
