Channel 4 has confirmed that Big Brother will be celebrating it’s tenth ninth birthday in a couple of weeks time, with “surprises aplenty” planned for the occasion.

Although no extra shows are scheduled, from Monday 13th July the nightly highlights are billed as birthday specials, culminating in a night of “extravagant surprises” on eviction night, Friday 17th July.

The weeknight highlight shows are billed as follows:

Catch up on all the latest goings-on in the house. In the week of Big Brother’s tenth birthday, there’ll be surprises aplenty to celebrate a decade of the most talked-about TV programme of the noughties.

The live shows on Friday night then see Davina celebrating the occasion, with the first show featuring the latest eviction, before Big Brother celebrates in style in the second.

9.00pm Big Brother

It’s the eviction night of Big Brother 10.  Join Davina McCall as she announces the results LIVE and direct into the house. And in the week of its tenth anniversary, you can be sure that Big Brother will have a whole host of extravagant surprises in stall for housemates and viewers. Plus highlights from the past 24 hours in the Big Brother house.

10.35pm Big Brother

With an evening of birthday surprises in store, the second part of eviction night will see Big Brother celebrate ten years with some shocking turns and unexpected excitement.

Previous rumours have suggested all nine former winners will return to the house for the occasion, and although unconfirmed, it is widely expected former housemates will feature in some way.

Schedule

Big Brother’s birthday shows air on Monday and Thursday at 10pm and Tuesday and Wednesday at 9pm, with the live Friday night shows in the usual 9pm and 10.35pm slot.

Beforehand Big Brother airs on Saturday 11th July at 9pm, but on Sunday is moved to an earlier slot of 8pm, making way for the documentary Michael Jackson’s Last Days: What Really Happened at 9pm.

And you know how I’ve felt about the series so far - but guess what - hype works! I’m actually really looking forward to these.

about rudy time! lets hope these twists or whatever big brother has planned really does entertain. i still think though that the whole series should be a celebration of big brother not just a week or whatever. There should be twsits and turns throughout the series.

Finally! But I’m just fearful that we’ll be let down just like the nominations and what not..

But good job!

It’s good though for once the show actually has some hype not to live up too!

P.S. A remind for those still with it that tonight’s episode is at 9pm, not 10pm.

No doubt you’ll still complain though Brekkie LOL

I’m quite looking forward to it though, a good twist would be if they put in new housemates claiming to be old housemates, only for the current housemates to say “oh I remember you” only to go off and bitch about them. That would be excellent TV :D

Twists have so much potential for ex housemates and new ones but no doubt they’ll stick Brian in for an hour.

A bit more hype could also be created if the producers nominated one housemate from each of the 9 series to represent their series (not including those already out of BB10), and for the public to decide which one of them becomes a genuine BB10 housemate, but it wouldn’t be a terribly popular move online.

I just hope we have a mass eviction to get rid of say three of the most hated and put some new HM’s in for a fresh start and save this series from complete meltdown. The likes of Lisa and Kris are just evil rats.

So is anything happening tonight? or is it just a normal eviction?

Brekkie says: July 3, 2009 @ 8:46 pm

As far as C4 are concerned it’s “crisis, what crisis?”.

Nothing at all tonight planned - and if there is, they haven’t told anyone.
