Big Brother host Davina McCall has ‘admitted’ that the show will be dropped by Channel 4 after its eleventh series, The Sun claims.

McCall, who has presented all main and celebrity series and is an avid supporter of the show, allegedly said: “It’s definitely only got two years left.”

She added: “It’s become an institution — the summer is all about Big Brother, just like winter is all about The X Factor.”

The eleventh series will be the last in Channel 4’s current three-year contract with producers Endemol for the show, said to be worth £180million. It is believed that at least one more Celebrity edition is also to air.

The paper also said in the same article that BB10 will begin on Thursday June 4th.

NOOOOOOOO! i cant believe its going to end.i thought it would be here for even longer than 10 years and the summers wont be the same and they will try to introduce new reality shows and then relise big brother is the king of all reality tv shows!:(

I am so gutted !!! Big Brother Is great i wanted to go in but i am too young to and wouldn be able to go in now if it ends in two years i would only be 17 :(

Yes it might be unconfirmed but i think Davina is correct unfortunately. As admittedly the viewing ratings have been awful for the last two/three years.

It’s been pretty clear since last year C4 aren’t interested in keeping the show beyond 2010, and everything we’ve heard so far about BB10 confirms that.

im gutted that it might end in 2010 i so look forward to it starting the summers wont be the same maybe if we are lucky some other channel might take the contract over.

We all know that some other really clever channel will snap up the rights to broadcast the show, so it probably wont disappear off of our screens, it just wont be the same without it airing on C4 and the jordy accents lol. But I’m hoping this series will be amazing - even with the credit crunch hitting the BBTeam, it should still be really great with some legendery housemates…not strippers and lookalikes. Oh well ;) And BB should start on a Friday!! Not Thursday!! Grr!

Thank goodness, no more brain dead drivel to appease chavs and the lazy unemployed.
The ratings are giving their vote. It is tiresome and acting up in front of the cameras is not reality TV it is just posers with no pride.
