Big Brother’s Big Mother, Davina McCall, has indicated that Big Brother will return for it’s 11th series next year.
On her official Twitter page, This is Davina, she said: “Message to all. There is another BB next year. I am presenting it.”
Big Brother 11 is the third series in a three year contract worth a reported £180m for Endemol to produce the series for Channel 4, with C4 not expected to renew the contract following the series.
However, a significant drop in ratings this year of around 40% has led to speculation that C4 might call it a day after Big Brother 10, with at most a short All Stars series scheduled for next year to conclude the franchise.
Last night’s ratings once again failed to break the 2million mark, with just 1.88m watching the show - the lowest rated Tuesday show of the series. The equivalent show last year got over 3.5m viewers.
It should also be noted that back in 2007 Davina proudly announced the return of Celebrity Big Brother in a radio interview following Big Brother 8, only for C4 to announce within hours that the series had been axed for that year.
