'Unexpected excitement' promised
fridays-eviction-show-extended

Channel 4 have extended the length of Friday’s second live show as part of Big Brother’s week of birthday celebrations.

It will now run for one hour - between 10.35pm and 11.35pm - instead of the usual thirty minutes, after it was confirmed last week that a number of new housemates would enter the house after this week’s eviction.

The official synopsis of the show is as follows:

With an evening of birthday surprises in store, in the second part of eviction night Big Brother celebrates ten years with some shocking turns and unexpected excitement, including some new faces going in to the Big Brother house.

Thank you for publishing something Davina told us last Friday.

She told us about the new housemates last Friday, but the second show hasn’t been extended until today.

Thought it would have to be extended, as I previously said on another thread they were packing too much into the time they had.

PS: Vote Karly out, today!

Awesome

That’s going to mean some serious delays on Friday then. This show will have to be filmed in the 10pm hour, meaning the 9pm show will have to be filmed early too.

(And C4 once again showing little common sense - rather than just dropping the repeat of The Simpsons, they push the whole schedule back half an hour instead!)

Brekkie, that would mess up the eviction times wouldn’t it?

i want some serious twists in that second hour!!! i will be disapointed if just new housemates walk through the front door- at least make them arrive in an interesting way!- like aisleyne and sam in bb7

I would have thought an 8.30pm start for such a special and action packed show would have been appropriate, also it might of captured a million or two more viewers.

stu i agree.
lol @ rodrigo’s shocker of a task

Personally I think they should cut the first show back to half an hour (plenty long enough), and then air the second from 10-11.10pm, with the eviction and interview in the first 25-minutes, then 45 minutes to do whatever else they need to do.

And then I’d do that each week, having the nominations live immediately after the eviction.

@Stu, you think Big Brother competing against Coronation Street will get it more viewers? ;)

Stu says: July 14, 2009 @ 11:15 pm

Coronation Street is on at 7.30pm isn’t it, I never watch that sh!t

Brekkie says: July 14, 2009 @ 11:26 pm

7.30 and 8.30 now on Friday nights, which is causing the problems.

Advertising again letting it down. I believe they’ve had an ad running for the birthday week (but it’s yet to air when I’ve watched C4), but caught the eviction ad and it’s just a standard eviction promo - no mention of birthday twists or new HMs or anything.

Now they’ve extended the second show I fear the first will just be the highlights as always, with the second being eviction interview and then the new HMs. And that’ll be it!
