Housemates play for tokens
from-russia-with-love

The housemates have been set another task to earn tokens today, involving them learning phrases in Russian.

Big Brother will give them a series of phrases with two Russian translations for each: a regular one, and a phonetic one to aid pronounciation. They will have two hours in which to learn these, with the assistance of Angel.

A ‘number’ of housemates will then be called to the Diary Room to be tested. Big Brother will ask each housemate to say the translation of three English phrases aloud.

Angel will be allowed to take part in the tests.

A Russian language expert will judge them based on effort and pronounciation. If they correctly translate six or more phrases they will pass the task and win two tokens.

Matt, is there any new content coming to the site?

Steven says: June 20, 2009 @ 9:29 pm

why does BB always use such pathetic Tasks,
Learning russian, is just liek when they had to learn chinese or japanese cant remember which it was, its just crap. They could have been creative like a Huge Jenga game or sumthing, ino not taht obviously but well anything is better than this.

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 10:14 pm

Stupid, stupid, stupid task.

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 10:30 pm

I just thought of an awesome idea!..

They should do Irish with Noirin!

Is ì Noirin an ‘chairdeteach’ nìos mó ar fheabhas an dohmain!

(^^ Ceapaim gur scrìobh mé an lìne sin ceart ^^)

lanky says: June 20, 2009 @ 10:41 pm

So, it’s a ’stupid stupid stupid’ task, but it would be awesome if it involved learning Irish instead of Russian? :S

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 10:48 pm

Ya it would be to me because I’m Irish and I would relate more to them doing Irish!

Have you a problem with Irish or Irish people?

lanky says: June 20, 2009 @ 10:51 pm

No, I am Irish.

I just find it a bit hypocritical that you criticised this task for being stupid but then said it would be ‘awesome’ if they learnt Irish instead because you would ‘relate more to them’.

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 10:53 pm

How is it hypocritical if it would be a completely different task?

Yeah, I think it would be stupid with russian, and good with Irish. That’s not hypocritical, dude.

lanky says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:00 pm

It is though?

The task is learning languages. It’s the EXACT SAME TASK no matter what language they learn.

You think it’s “stupid stupid stupid” if the language they learn is Russian, but if it was Irish it would be “awesome”.

How is that NOT hypocritical?

Brekkie says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:10 pm

Now, now, guys. Let’s keep things positive around here ;)

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:10 pm

Your not really explaining how it is though?

lanky says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:14 pm

According to Dictionary.com, a hypocrite is a person who pretends to have virtues, morals or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess.

You said you had the belief that this task is “stupid stupid stupid”. You then demonstrated that you do not actually posess this belief by saying it would be “awesome” if it was done with the Irish language.

Now, how is that NOT hypocritical?

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:16 pm

Well maybe I am then. But what the fuck is it to you?

lanky says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:18 pm

What is it to you that Brekkie is apparently ‘always negative’?

Matt says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:19 pm

Okay, break it up you two. Remember that insults aimed at other commenters and staff aren’t allowed.

Also, can I request that users do not post in languages other than English as it makes it hard for our moderators to check comments. Thanks.

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:22 pm

Absolutley Nothing. But what did it have to do with you for you to get involved in the first place.

Alright Matt. But some people are pretty good at using dictionaries so they should be well able to translate it!

Jonny Boy says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:32 pm

Ivan!
Id advise you, to make your own Big Brother fan site!

*Insult removed*
Keep up the good work Matt & Brekkie =]

lanky says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:34 pm

Sorry Matt, was just making a point. Keep up the good work with the site.

Ivan says: June 20, 2009 @ 11:35 pm

I’d advise you to mind your own business!

I’m entitled to my opinion just like you or anyone else so just shut it good man!

Steven says: June 21, 2009 @ 2:05 pm
