Group fails birthday shopping task
Big Brother gives housemates presents

The housemates have failed this week’s special birthday shopping task, forcing them to live on basic rations for a second week.

Over the past four days, housemates competed against ex-housemates in nine classic Big Brother challenges, of which they had to successfully complete seven in order to pass the overall shopping task.

However, they did not meet the target and therefore they will continue to live on £1 per head per day for the time being.

For the final challenge yesterday, Marcus competed against Big Brother 9 housemate Rex at the electric shock task.

They each had to guide a wand over a length of wire in the garden in a giant ‘Buzz’-style game, while the others wore shiny suits fitted with special pads that gave a small electric shock each time the rod touched the wire.

There was a one hour time limit for the task, and Marcus had to complete it faster than Rex in order to pass. The outcome can be seen on tonight’s highlights show at 9.00pm on Channel 4.

As an additional prize, each housemate would be rewarded with one token if they managed to keep their shiny suits on for the duration. Marcus had to complete the course to win one.

All housemates except for Noirin and Lisa, who removed their suits, earned their tokens, and were surprised later on when Big Brother informed them they could exchange it for anything they wanted, provided it wasn’t too extravagant.

Charlie asked for a burger and fries, with a fizzy drink, while Dogface asked if she could see her dogs. Big Brother was happy to organise this.

Halfwit opted to keep his token and share it with the house, while Karly used hers to get two packets of cigarettes.

Rodrigo and Siavash wanted to speak to his families. Big Brother denied this request both times, but while Rodrigo negotiated a letter from home, Siavash settled for two bottles of wine, nineteen cans of cider and a packet of crisps.

The oddest request came from Marcus, who narrowed his choices down to use of an electric guitar and amp for an hour, or a date with Noirin. He went for the date, and Big Brother was happy to grant this provided Noirin accepted.

She was happy to attend, and the pair had their date earlier today.
