King of the castle
Group faces their third shopping task
king-of-the-castle

The Big Brother house has turned in to Tudor England for this week’s shopping task, with Siavash ruling as King Henry VIII.

Earlier today, Big Brother called one housemate to the Diary Room to collect instructions for this week’s task. As Siavash was the first person to respond, he was automatically given the role of Henry VIII.

He will choose six housemates to be his wives for the task, and another two to be courtiers. All of these housemates will live in luxury in King Henry’s Court.

Everyone else will become cooks, except for one housemate who will be get a surprise ’special role’ - village idiot.

The house has been re-decorated for the task and now includes a court and Tudor kitchen.

Access to the normal kitchen is forbidden, and the group will only be allowed to eat the basic food from the Tudor kitchen (including rabbits, chickens, carp, seasonal vegetables and fruit).

On the second day of the task, the cooks will prepare food for a feast using real Tudor recipes. The others must take part in the feast, and will also have their own tasks to complete.

If any housemate breaks the rules during the task, the village idiot will take the blame and whatever punishment Big Brother deems fit, such as wearing a barrel or going in to the stocks.

This task sounds hilarious

I have to say it looks like a decent task on paper, just wish we could every minute unfold live so we know they are actually in there doing it and that it is not being stage managed to make it look convincing for the highlights

Does sound much more like the classic BB task. Be interesting to see if it plays out as expected though, or whether their might be a twist to it - like Siavash having to decide which of his wives face the eviction chopping block.

Finally, I love these weekly tasks where they turn the house into something

I would love to see more of these :)

It’s a great task. I think the Wednesday show might be what you’re thinking of Brekkie, that would work. I love Marcus’ role, now that’s comedy.

I don’t know whether anyone knows this yet, but there’s no LIVE feed so everyone can see it 24/7.

For God’s sake Stu, we know there’s no live feed!

You can keep banging on about it but it won’t be coming back because the money simply isn’t there!

And Brekkie, sorry for targeting you again but your avoiding of the highlight shows means they’re losing out on even more money!

I wish you would all stop giving out and just enjoy what you’ve got of this series!

Ivan I was being sarcastic!

Brekkie says: June 22, 2009 @ 10:30 pm

Ivan - the problem isn’t solved by me sitting and watching whatever they serve up.

The problem is solved by them making a product which me, and the two million other viewers they’ve lost - are willing to digest.

I will say, this is the first thing which has tempted me to watch since I gave up, so I might watch tomorrows show.

Ivan says: June 22, 2009 @ 10:30 pm

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, oh right sorry. lol.

Stu says: June 22, 2009 @ 10:33 pm

Personally I think they intend to restore the LIVE feed but their holding back until the series gets really exciting, around about the day the previous winners enter for the tenth anniversary special.

PS:- I am watching tonite, going to watch it on CH4+1 in future, coz I can’t stand the hours wait between the HL show and the LIVE feed on E4.

Brekkie says: June 22, 2009 @ 10:41 pm

The overnight feed loses so many viewers by not starting it at 11pm. Which of course is the plan so should BB return, they can axe that too.

As for the live feed returning this series - knowing C4 it’ll be on Day 92!

Ivan says: June 23, 2009 @ 11:30 am

That apology is to Stu.

Stu says: June 23, 2009 @ 11:17 pm

Isn’t the task a scream, can’t wait to see them singing that song.

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:40 am

Charlie should have been the village idiot, he would have been well suited to it.
