Halfwit (again) and Sree are at your mercy tonight — it’s time for Big Brother’s fifth eviction of the series, and our live updates…
Davina will oversee tonight’s shows, as usual, at 9.00pm and 10.30pm on Channel 4. We’ll be covering everything as it happens, so keep refreshing this very page for our latest updates, which are at the bottom of the list.

- 8.30pm: Welcome to our live updates for this, the fifth eviction of Big Brother 2009!
- 8.49pm: A whopping 85% of you want Sree to go tonight, while the other 15% want to see the back of Halfwit. Who do you agree with? Let us know by leaving a comment or voting on the right…
- 8.52pm: “Tonight, either Halfwit or Sree will leave the house to a chorus of deafening, heartwarming cheers, or a chorus of deafening heartwarming boos,” says Davina while promoting BB during A Place In The Sun.
- 8.57pm: Davina asks “Tonight, eviction virgin Sree takes on the Houdini of the house. Can Halfwit wriggle free again and survive another week?” during another break.
- 9.00pm: “Halfwit faces eviction for the fourth time in a row. Can Sree make mission impossible possible?” - Davina opens the show.
- 9.00pm: Davina welcomes us to the show with her usual recap of the week, the nominees and what the other housemates think of them.
- 9.01pm: Davina reads out the phone numbers.
- 9.02pm: Tonight’s highlights begins with the housemates completing their shopping list for the next week.
- 9.07pm: The first part of the show ends.

- 9.11pm: Davina welcomes us back to the show and reminds us that Halfwit and Sree face eviction tonight. She repeats the phone numbers.
- 9.12pm: Tonight’s second batch of highlights begins with an ongoing row between Marcus and Sree.
- 9.15pm: Big Brother has intervened in the argument by calling Marcus to the Diary Room.
- 9.21pm: Marcus is defending himself against Big Brother’s accusations that he has acted in a way that could be deemed as offensive.
- 9.23pm: Sree is now in the Diary Room giving his version of events.
- 9.24pm: “Thought provoking stuff, there,” says Davina as she rounds off part two of the show.

- 9.28pm: Part three of the show starts with Davina doing a politics-related anecdote, before she reads out the numbers again.
- 9.29pm: The third batch of tonight’s highlights begins with the housemates collecting their shopping from the store room.
- 9.34pm: Marcus is now in the Diary Room being given a formal warning by Big Brother for his earlier argument with Sree.
- 9.40pm: Marcus is again defending himself against Big Brother’s accusations. Marcus is accusing Big Brother of being ’sizeist’ by only punishing him because he is bigger than Sree. He said that BB is not treating housemates equally.
- 9.43pm: Marcus is discussing his punishment and the argument with Halfwit and Siavash.
- 9.45pm: Davina makes a remark about Marcus’s eyebrow, before a sound effect plays implying it has hit someone, prompting Davina to say ’sorry’ sheepishly. Part three ends.

- 9.49pm: Davina welcomes us to the Big Brother Mosh Pit (i.e. the walkway) as the fourth part of the show begins.
- 9.50pm: It’s your last chance to vote! To evict Halfwit call 09016 16 16 05, or to evict Sree call 09016 16 16 16. Calls cost 35p with BT, other networks and mobiles may vary, lines close in a couple of minute.
- 9.51pm: The final lot of tonight’s highlights begins with Marcus discussing insulting England with Rodrigo. Sree is talking to Lisa and Karly at the bus stop.
- 9.52pm: Lisa and Karly are telling Sree that he has a ‘lot of respect’ for women.
- 9.53pm: Housemates are playing with a selection of inflatables they rented from the shopping list, while Marcus and Noirin are talking in the lounge. Halfwit is in the Diary Room.
- 9.56pm: Davina says that Halfwit reminded her of Nikki Grahame during that Diary Room session.
- 9.56pm: The lines are now closed. Don’t call, as your votes won’t be counted but they may still be charged.
- 9.56pm: Davina rounds off the first of tonight’s shows before it ends with live feed.
- First show ends
- 10.17pm: “Roll up, roll up! Tonight, the Marcus-hating, Noirin-bating, sometimes-grating Sree versus the eviction-defying barnet-dying Halfwit!” says Davina as she reminds us to join her for the eviction in eighteen minutes.
- 10.36pm: “Sree and Halfwit are both staring in to the eviction abyss. Who are you gonna push over the edge?” asks Davina from the studio as she opens the second show.
- 10.37pm: Davina is now talking to the house.
- 10.37pm: The fifth person to be evicted is Sree.
- 10.37pm: Sree is saying his goodbyes to the other housemates in the lounge, before he leaves and heads for the exit.
- 10.38pm: Sree is heading up the stairs to the front door.
- 10.38pm: Sree has left the house to relentless boos from the crowd outside
- 10.39pm: Sree is down the steps and has met Davina, who leads him along the walkway for his press shots.
- 10.40pm: The first part of the second show ends.

- 10.44pm: Davina welcomes us back to the show and introduces Sree, who is booed, and her two guests, ‘reality rock royalty’ Kelly Osbourne and psychologist Judi James.
- 10.45pm: Sree’s interview begins. We’ll have highlights from the interview available later.
- 10.47pm: Kelly says that, because he comes from a different background, his situation reminds her of the movie ‘Lost In Translation’, but adds that he doesn’t know when to shut up.
- 10.48pm: Sree got 85% of the public vote to evict.
- 10.49pm: Sree is being shown who nominated him in a VT.
- 10.51pm: Judi is reviewing Sree’s behaviour during his time in the house.
- 10.54pm: Davina is questioning Sree about using Freddie’s dyslexia against him.
- 10.55pm: Sree is being shown a VT about his time with Noirin and his feelings towards her.
- 10.57pm: Sree is discussing his thoughts on Noirin, while Kelly says that she thinks Noirin was playing him.
- 10.59pm: Davina shows Sree his best bits.
- 11.01pm: Davina thanks Sree and her guests before rounding off the show. Live feed airs, and the credits roll.
