Who will face eviction this week?
live-off-with-their-heads

Now that the Tudor task is over, it’s time for Big Brother’s attention to turn to the chopping block. It’s live nominations night, and here are our updates…

The lovely Davina will be hosting tonight’s special shows at 9.00pm and 10.55pm on Channel 4. We’ll cover all the news and action here as it breaks, so keep refreshing for our latest updates (which appear at the bottom).

Oh, and don’t forget that you can leave your thoughts on tonight’s proceedings below.

Who’ll be nominated? They decide…

  • 8.30pm: Hello and welcome to our live updates for tonight!
  • 8.52pm: “Tonight, the housemates will nominate live. They have absolutely no idea you’re going to be watching them, live, on your tellyboxes, so who will nominate who and who will face eviction?” asks Davina during a break in River Cottage.
  • 8.55pm: Don’t forget that Charlie won’t be able to nominate tonight and Marcus is immune from eviction on Friday - click the links for more information…
  • 8.59pm: “There’s more from the court of Henry VIII coming up on tonight’s Big Brother. What the king, his queens and courtiers don’t know is that tonight they’ll be nominating live,” says Davina as she plugs BB, which begins in minutes…
  • 9.02pm: “Nominations, live, direct, straight into your sitting room, and the housemates have no ideas you’re watching them,” says Davina. The titles roll.
  • 9.04pm: Davina summarises that the housemates will nominate against the clock in the second show at 10.55pm.
  • 9.04pm: Our first slice of highlights from yesterday begins with a recap of the Tudor shopping task details from Marcus Bentley.
  • 9.06pm: The housemates are discussing whether to give up on this week’s task or not. Marcus and Rodrigo are arguing that it’s just a task and that they should do their best regardless.
  • 9.12pm: Rodrigo is in the Diary Room where Big Brother is giving him a ticking off for not “hey-nonny-nonnying” satisfactorily. Rodrigo is giving examples of his abilities whilst sat in the Diary Room chair.
  • 9.13pm: The highlights, and the first part of the show, ends.
  • Commercial break
  • 9.18pm: Davina welcomes us back and reminds us live nominations are happening later.
  • 9.18pm: Davina introduces the second batch of highlights, which begins with Rodrigo practising his “hey-nonny-nonnying” in the garden whilst Lisa and Noirin prepare food in the kitchen.
  • 9.19pm: Marcus has been in the Diary Room rehearsing ‘Green Sleeves’ for 27 minutes.
  • 9.24pm: The second round of highlights ends.
  • Commercial break
  • 9.28pm: Davina welcomes us to part three by reminding us (again) that we’ll be watching live nominations later.
  • 9.28pm: The third batch of tonight’s highlights begins with the start of the housemates’ Tudor feast.
  • 9.30pm: Charlie and Kris are performing their Volta dance in front of the other housemates.
  • 9.31pm: Henry’s wives are now performing their madrigal, “Now Is The Month Of Maying” by Thomas Morley. And, being honest, they’re doing a pretty bad job of it.
  • 9.37pm: Marcus is now performing ‘Green Sleeves’. The group has had an argument about the food and drink at the banquet.
  • 9.41pm: The third part of tonight’s first show ends.
  • Commercial break
  • 9.45pm: Davina welcomes us to the fourth part of the show, remarking that she should do it in a “hey-nonny-nonny” style.
  • 9.46pm: The fourth and final batch of highlights begins.
  • 9.46pm: Big Brother has called Siavash to the Diary Room to retrieve a plastic sword. Big Brother notes that swords are dangerous and must be used responsibly, to which he says “It’s f***ing plastic!”
  • 9.48pm: Big Brother has informed him that he must Knight a housemate and give them eviction immunity.
  • 9.49pm: Siavash said that he was going to go for one person (Halfwit) to save them from facing a third eviction, but quickly backtracked and went for Marcus instead.
  • 9.50pm: Big Brother has gathered the housemates in the living room for the results of this week’s task. They had to successfully complete three out of the five sub-challenges to pass.
  • 9.53pm: The housemates failed all five challenges and will survive on a £1-per-head-per-day budget for the next week. They’ve joined in a circle and are singing “for he’s a jolly good fellow”.
  • 9.59pm: Davina rounds off the show and reminds us to join her later for the live nominations. Live feed from the bedroom begins.
  • 9.59pm: The credits roll as the first show comes to an end.
  • 9.59pm: Join us at 10.55pm as our coverage of tonight’s live nominations specials continues!
  • First show ends
  • 10.43pm: “A quiet Wednesday night in for you, but for our housemates it’s nominations against the clock. What they don’t know is that you’re gonna be watching them nominate live,” says Davina from the camera run outside the main area during a break in Ugly Betty.
  • 10.57pm: The credits roll as tonight’s second show starts.
  • 10.58pm: Davina recaps what will happen during the show.
  • 10.58pm: Davina hands over to Big Brother. Big Brother calls Angel to the Diary Room.

Can’t wait, it’s really exciting.

lanky says: June 24, 2009 @ 8:54 pm

I’m not sure what to think. It’s certainly a waste of a live show.

Lewis [*-*] says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:00 pm

the shutters are closed…
that only usually happens when there is a crowed?

Lewis [*-*] says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:03 pm

“…And they have no idea you are watching them…”

We watch them anyway?

Mike says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:05 pm

Does not sound like other housemates will c the nominations - so its rather pointless!!

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:06 pm

And they’re nominating Wednesday evening, not Monday afternoon.

Anyhow, my first BB in nearly two weeks - and Mr Bentley only has to say “Day 20″ to remind me how annoying his narration is.

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:15 pm

Are those authentic Tudor headphones and Tudor Instructional DVDs?

lanky says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:31 pm

I had to laugh when Big Brother punished Rodrigo for his hey-nonny-nonnying.

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:34 pm

god, this task really is awful.

We need the tasks back where something is actually achieved - even if it’s just some meaningful sense of victory by the HMs.

lanky says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:40 pm

BTW, can I congratulate you on your live updates this year. They seem to be a lot more comprehensive and better than those offered on other sites.

Steve’Lee says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:43 pm

lanky, are you making refrence to IBB as they are down tonight?

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:43 pm

As always, that’s down to Matt. Personally I’m really struggling to sit through this episode.

lanky says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:44 pm

Steve, I’m talking about coverage of all live shows so far, not just this one.

Steve’Lee says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:46 pm

I like all live updates on all site, theyre all good in theyre own way and I visit all of them!

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:53 pm

All this reference to “independent judges” is ruining the concept.

It’s Big Brother who is supposed to control the HMs lives, not the judges - and should anyone question it, BB can argue that “Big Brother” embodies anyone called upon to judge these tasks.

Lewis [*-*] says: June 24, 2009 @ 9:55 pm

Brekkie, its easier to get someone who allready knows how it should be done and spot out all the mistakes rather than making “big brother” learn the whole routines and spot out any mistakes.

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:00 pm

I’m not saying the judges shouldn’t judge - but as far as the HMs are concerned the decision should be Big Brother’s, nobody elses.

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:01 pm

Anyhow, that has to be the worst batch of highlights in a live show ever.

And they didn’t even show Big Brother announcing to the house that nominations would take place tonight, despite Davina teasing us that the announcement would be made at the beginning of the show.

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:11 pm

Well I thought the performances were a scream, couldn’t stop laughing when the wives were singing that tudor song, why can’t certain people here appreciate the funny side of it, rather then taking everying so seriously all the time.

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:12 pm

Also, forgot to say that I can’t see the point of having Davina in front of a live audience just to present a HL show were nothing happend.

Tom says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:18 pm

Rubbish! Waste of a live shoe, there is no difference, they know that the public watch nominations anyway so there’s no difference whether we watch them live or a few days later anyway. I hope there’s another twist because this is complete rubbish!

Tom says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:19 pm

show*

lanky says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:20 pm

Well, Stu, they do it for every special so there’s no surprise there. I agree though, it’d have been good to end the show with an announcement that nominations would take place in an hour.

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:23 pm

It was a letdown, they should of just had the normal HL show and Davina just presenting the extra one later on her own with no live audience. The people sitting in that studio must feel a bit cheated after getting tickets for what most of thought was going to be some twist or surprise eviction or a new housemate

Mike says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:26 pm

This is a waste of time!!

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:40 pm

I know this is sad but had to youtube that song, The Month of Maying, think the lyrics are really funny

Cassie says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:47 pm

I had tickets for tonight … i really hope there is another twist … i dont think they would have a live audience for nothing … but if they have im glad i havent gone lol ..

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 10:50 pm

A quick search online suggests it was written in 1595, nearly 50 years after Henry VIII died.

Frankie says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:00 pm

they have been that they have a time limit, because they are talking rather fast.

Mike says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:02 pm

What a shambles!

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:11 pm

Ridiculous, but not as bad as I feared. Clearly shows though they could get them to nominate within an hour, rather than taking all day.

Mike says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:13 pm

But we r going to c these nominations again in tommorows highlights!

Ben says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:17 pm

Yep . can some1 tell me that “he just licks her ass” is a valid reason !!! thats not valid lol :L stupid idea of it bein live cos will see it all tomoz in highlights :L waste !!!

Ben says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:19 pm

:O thats not right cutting bit out of siavashes diary room nomination :( bad.

ryan.b says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:19 pm

they should not have the blue 30 seconds left light because they are bound to just stop and say the 2nd nomination so this means every nomination will count anyway! and why do they blank stuff out at this late at night!

Frankie says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:20 pm

i hate tonights show, very very VERY pointless

Mike says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:21 pm

I can’t believe how much of a waste this is!
Why not a secret eviction? or a new housemate?
No wonder ratings are poor!!!

ryan.b says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:22 pm

THEY ARE AFRAID OF ANOTHER FIGHT OR SOMETHING BREAKING OUT THATS WHY THEY ARE NOT BEING SHOWN TO THE HOUSEMATES

Mike says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:23 pm

Cnt believe I stayed up to watch that! JOKE!!!

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:25 pm

Wasn’t as bad as I feared, but to nick a quote from Matt - poor idea, well executed.

It shows it shouldn’t be taking them 5 hours to collect the nominations in regular weeks, but on the whole you do get better reasons if HMs have time to explain their nominations, rather than having to fight the clock.

However, take the clock away and the HMs would probably naturally make their nominations in 3-5 minutes each, so it could be done live in an hour long show every week if they wanted.

Ben says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:26 pm

Simple ANGELS GOING BYE BYE !!!!

Tom says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:27 pm

What a dissapointment! I’m not watching the rest or the series now!

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:30 pm

What a shock, thought at least Sree was certain, the way he’s been rubbing everyone up the wrong way.

But Halfwit again, that’s not on, he’ll survive again coz I get the feeling Angel is no competition against him and she’s not that popular outside the house.

As for Noirin, well before that I gave her the benefit of the doubt, but after nominating Halfwit after giving her the gift of normality, well that’s it I’m through with her, the sooner she’s out the better.

Ben says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:31 pm

im also really disappointed there was no point of that show simply awful ! poor idea and what a bad try to get views that was !!!

Matt says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:32 pm

I agree with those that think that they could have done something better with the extra airtime.

However, I don’t think it’s anything to turn off over - it was never bigged up as anything more than live nominations after all.

I did think it was incredibly well executed, with the timer in the corner, the lights in the Diary Room and the tally appearing when each housemate finished.

Krystal says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:33 pm

i did enjoy this but i can’t believe freddie’s up again poor bloke never gets a break.

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:38 pm

Can’t believe it, all the HM’s had a brilliant day on Halfwits birthday and they do this to him, but my venom is for Noirin, wat a bitch!

Jonny says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:40 pm

Anyone else see this as a tester for this as the new method of nominations for future weeks? Especially after Davina saying “it should be like that every week” or something similar on BBLB today.

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:46 pm

I’m still hoping mad, knew some of them won’t let up on Halfwit like Kris, Dogface, Karly but Rodrigo, but my venom is for Noirin, selfish ungrateful cow.

Ivan says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:51 pm

Ugh

Stu says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:57 pm

Judging by tonight, it’s certain Angel will go on Friday and here’s my prediction for next weeks nominations, remember who told you first:-

Halfwit v Marcus

Brekkie says: June 24, 2009 @ 11:58 pm

He’d still be up if Noirin hadn’t nominated him - and like it matters. It’s not like they show the evictee who nominated them during the eviction interview anymore!

Chances are though she’d have nominated Sree instead, which would have seen him up for eviction too in a three way vote.

Stu says: June 25, 2009 @ 12:02 am

Yeah Brekkie, but it’s the way she sort of stabbed him in th back after the nice thing he did for her and it’s Sree who’s giving her all the grief, unless she really enjoys the attention, I’m beginning to wonder

Stu says: June 25, 2009 @ 12:05 am

Brekkie, looking at the figures as you say even if Noirin didn’t nominate Halfwit he’s still be up, but if she would have gone for Sree like she should have there would have been a tie with Halfwit, Angel and Sree all on 6 each, then there’d of been the choice of all 3 of them and Sree would be leaving Friday.

BB10RIP says: June 25, 2009 @ 12:20 am

@stu
Yes was amazingly handy I thought that Noirin didnt nominate sree. The real reason why I will leave people to make their own opinions of.

BTW on the thread earlier today over this ’special’ you told me not to be negative and I would be ‘back with tail between legs’ when the new housemate went in. Didnt happen as I could have predicted it wouldnt did it ?

Stu says: June 25, 2009 @ 12:24 am

I knew earlier on that would come back to haunt me, I got my tail between my legs!

BB10RIP says: June 25, 2009 @ 12:35 am

@stu
No you havent got tail between legs atall. No Worries Im not been negative just stating my perception of how they are basically trying to take viewers/fans for utter fools this year IMO.

That latest example of this is not opening phone lines till 10am tommorrow for voting and saying see the official BB Website for the telephone numbers both in press release and by davina at end of program. A more blatant and desperate attempt to try and get hits for the website I cannot imagine IMO.

anne says: June 25, 2009 @ 9:04 am

rubbish!! was told there would be a twist and it was nothing special
feel let down once again
