Powers to produce Big Brother 10
BB9/CBB6 exec prod keeps role

It has been announced that Sharon Powers will continue to serve as executive producer on Big Brother this summer.

Big Brother 10 will be Powers’ fifth series as executive producer of the reality show, having previously worked in the post for BB6 and BB9 as well as the fourth and sixth Celebrity editions.

In addition, she was also a creative director for Big Brother 7.

Sharon is the first executive producer to hold the role for two consecutive years.

BB10 begins on June 4th at 9.00pm.

Its a good thing…for me both BB6 and BB9 where good years! =] The tasks and the cast and the house where brilliant last year … aswell as bb6.

I can’t say I’m necessarily happy. Will Powers be able to bring the change the Big Brother needs? I have doubts - however, BB6 was my favorite season, so I’m not completely in despair.

That is the problem - how much her hands are tied.

I’ve always though I could make a pretty big show, but with costs cuts and things beyond your control like the live feed for example, I’m not sure I’d even want the job this year.

Powers is capable and competent, but she’s nothing special. Her series have been solid but never vintage years. BB7 has been called a shambles but has more of a legacy than BB6 or BB9 ever will. She’ll do a fair job but don’t expect any changes for as long as the senior producers remain the same.

At the end of the day, Powers isn’t stupid. She’s been involved with the show long enough to know that this series will be make-or-break. Surely she knows she needs to pull a rabbit out of her ass this time around.

Davey - I’m pretty sure it was Sharron Powers who rescued BB7. It was reported after a lack-lustre first few weeks her and Phil Edgar Jones were bought in to give the series a boost.

Whether there’s any truth in that I don’t know - after all according to the Daily Star everytime two people at Endemol bump into each other in the corridor it’s a “crisis meeting”.

yes it is about how much freedom they will give her. god, i wish endemol and C4 stopped being so wimpy!

here’s for hoping! there is a recession audience out there… big ratings with a good series are more than possible.

Whoever says that BB6 to BB9 was great are TOTALLY out of their minds because every true BB fan knows that BB1 to BB3 was good to great but BB5 is the ULTIMATE series and nothing can match it period!!!!
