Where are they now?: BB1
where-are-they-now-bb1

To celebrate Big Brother’s tenth series, we’re taking a look at what the BB1 housemates have done since they appeared on the show.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nine years since the first batch of Big Brother contestants burst on to our screens. BB1 ran for nine weeks, and was won by builder Craig Phillips, who donated his prize money to an ill friend for an operation.

However, it is most remembered for ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman’s attempts to influence nominations, the story which first brought what would become the UK’s biggest reality TV programme to the attention of the masses.

Here, we find out where the participants of Big Brother 1 are now.

Andrew: Andy had a brief career in television fronting a business programme for five, but eventually found work as a brand consultant.
Anna: Anna is now a TV presenter in her native Ireland, and has hosted shows including RTÉ One’s The Afternoon Show. She also wrote a column for the Irish Independent newspaper.
Caroline: Since leaving the Big Brother house Caroline has posed topless and recorded a single, but failed to get a recording contract. She nows manages an imaging makeover studio.
Claire and Tom: This pair entered a relationship after the show and had a baby boy, before moving to Spain, where they worked on a property website together. They have since split.
Craig: Craig has appeared on many DIY television programmes, and can currently be seen on ITV1’s 60 Minute Makeover. He has also opened his own ‘construction training academy’, and is set to release an autobiography this summer.
Darren: Having laid low for a year after Big Brother, Darren eventually attempted to launch a career as a (you guessed it) TV presenter. He eventually retrained as a flight attendant, appearing in a few episodes of ITV1’s Airline.
Melanie: Mel ventured into the world of TV briefly, fronting E4 gameshow Chained, and has written numerous pieces for magazines including Marie Claire. After having a relationship with Alex from BB3, she trained as a barrister, but has since given up. She is currently travelling.
Nick: Nick hosted Channel 4 show Trust Me and wrote a book titled Nasty Nick: How To Be A Right B******, before appearing in Channel Five show Back To Reality and E4’s Big Brother Panto. He now writes travel features and works on property development.
Nichola: After she was evicted, Nichola attempted a pop career, releasing a single entitled The Game. However, it only reached number 72 in the charts. She now works as an adult film star.
Sada: Following Big Brother Sada trained as a yoga instructor and wrote a book titled Babes Bible. After spending some time living in Argentina, she is now back in the UK and believed to be working as a waitress.

It was a human error that we’ve now fixed. All this BBs-tenth-birthday-that-isnt-actually-a-tenth-birthday malarkey is quite confusing.

It is NOT ending this year, the contract is up until BB11. After that it will be reviewed, all the belly aching is really grinding my axe. No, Digital Sid was just being pedantic over, as Matt stated, a human error.
